My R6S Idea: A Cross-Play System.

Rainbow Six: Siege became a very popular video game over the years, and gains attraction from multiple platforms daily. There are so many different ways users can play Rainbow Six: Siege

Here’s my idea for a Cross-Play system on Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege.

A while back, Rainbow Six: Siege allowed keyboard and mouse on Xbox, which was a total disaster, since there wasn’t a proper system setup to make it fair. My idea is to keep controller players separate from PC Players.

Ever since the removal of keyboard and mouse on controller servers, players have used macros/adapters, which are against the games’ TOS (Terms Of Service) and guidelines, due to a unfair advantage against controller players.

Having a cross-play system could change the amount of these cheaters, by providing a way of them to play with their accessories in the game.

How would this work?

Similar to Fortnite, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare (Or Cold War), If one or more PC players are in a party/lobby with a Controller player, the Controller player will tag along with the PC players in a PC Server, since there is a keyboard and mouse player in the party/lobby with them. Controller players will be in controller-only servers, and should not be able to change input mid-game, only in the lobby to prevent unfair situations.

Keyboard and mouse players will also have to do the same. (They should not be able to switch inputs, either.)

PS4 & Xbox = Console server

Keyboard & Mouse on Xbox & Playstation 4 & PC Players = Keyboard & mouse server.

Friend/Account system:

The friend & account system could be used through Ubisoft Connect, which is known to be used on most Ubisoft games and works on most platforms, and is part of the launcher on an PC.

The issues with this idea:

The cost & server’s storage: Servers may cost TONS of money to keep running, and can only handle so much at once.

Cheaters: Players could still use Keyboard & Mouse Macros/adapters, which can lead to massive problems in controller servers, if not handled properly.

This is not an official announcement, and this post is not partnered/affiliated with Ubisoft or Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege

This is a prototype idea I came up with, although this would be nice if they could implement this into the game in the future.

Let me know your opinions on my idea, constructive criticism is always useful!

Let’s see if we can get Ubisoft to see this post.

Since this post was made near christmas (12/20/2020),
Happy Holidays!
